Pour ceux qui se sont intéressés à la page « projets en cours » de l’an dernier, ils ne se sont malheureusement pas tous réalisés, défaut de financement le plus souvent mais avec de la patience, j’espère y arriver.
For those who viewed my ongoing projects page on my website last year, some of those projects are still not finished due to, for the most part, a lack of financing. But, with patience, I hope to complete them.

Le projet Pirituba à Sao Paulo, n’a pas vu le jour, les difficultés à monter le projet, le temps que cela a pris de mettre en place les différents éléments nécessaires (équipe et argent), nous a fait perdre le timing sur ce lieu. La mairie de Sao Paulo y a installé du gazon et des aires de jeux.
Cela nous a obligé à rechercher un nouvel espace.
Le projet Aldeinha se trouve dans un espace central et inhospitalier de Sao Paulo.
Il prévoit avec pour vecteur un projet artistique sa transformation aussi bien esthétique, que social et environnemental. L’oeuvre sera réalisée par des jeunes qui seront formés au métier de jardinier. Le parc sera ensuite offert aux communautés avoisinantes pour qu’elles l’administrent comme une pépinière et ainsi avoir des revenus.
D’un côté du rio Tiete, le dessin est exactement le plan de la favela qui occupait l’espace (576 familles) pour maintenir la mémoire de ce moment urbain délicat. Les gens qui y habitaient seront en mesure de retrouver l'espace de leur ancienne maison composé de fleurs et plantes. L'idée est de promouvoir un débat sur le logement précaire dans les grandes villes.
La favela devra quitter cet espace, dans deux ou trois ans, la ville ayant besoin de construire un accès au pont. De l'autre côté du fleuve dans un espace fermé pour l’instant appartenant à la ville, nous pourrons assurer la permanence du projet qui assurera la formation et des revenus pour cette communauté. Il s'agit d'un projet ou l’art est porteur de transformation sociale et esthétique, en phase avec Sao Paulo, ville qui respire la modernité et la folie dûe à une croissance démesurée. |
The project Pirituba in Sao Paulo never got off the ground. It took more time than expected to build the model of the project, put a team together and acquire funding. When we were finally ready, it was too late to use the space. The city of Sao Paulo put grass on it and turned it into a playground instead. So, we had to look for another space. The Aldeinha project is located in a central but uninviting area of Sao Paulo. This artistic project will be used as a vector to transform the space from an esthetic, social and environmental perspective.
The project will be carried out by young people who will be trained as gardeners. Then the park will be donated to the neighboring communities. They will treat it as a nursery, and hence, have income.
On one side of the Rio Tiete, the design of the project respects the favela’s layout (576 families), in memory of a sensitive urban time. People who once lived there will be able to find the space, where their houses were, filled with flowers and plants.
The idea behind the project is to promote debate about precarious housing conditions in major cities.
Residents of the favela will have to leave in two or three years, as the city will use the space to build an access system for a bridge.
There is an enclosed area owned by the city on the other side of the river. The project will resume in that space and, thereby, continue to provide training and income for the community.
This is a project where art is used to bring about social and esthetic transformation that's in tune with Sao Paulo, a city radiating both modernity and madness due to its exponential growth. |

Le projet de Melle a été réalisé dans le cadre de la biennale d’art contemporain de Melle et en collaboration avec le lycée agricole Jacques Bujault et Agrobio, un organisme chargé de maintenir la diversité des différentes variétés de blés. L’agriculture a tendance à n’utiliser que quelques variétés, les plus rentables, mais le patrimoine des espèces de blés est immense.
Je travaille avec huit variétés de céréales choisies selon quatre paramètres : la taille de la plante, la précocité, la couleur à maturité, barbu ou non.

This project is for the biennial of contempory art in Melle and is in collaboration with an agriculture school, Jacques Bujault and a biological company, Agrobio, responsible for mantaining the diversity of wheat seeds.
In agriculture only a few types of seeds, the most profitable, are used. But there is a huge variety of wheat seeds.
I worked with 8 different types of cereal, chosen on the basis of plant size, precocity, color at maturity and whether they were bearded or not.
